"My vote won't count" ... that is the most irresponsible statement one can make. Even if you are voting in a constituency where its overwhelmingly one sided already. If you do not vote, and Pakatan comes to power, can you in your conscience celebrate together? Aren't you sick and tired of the threats? Some of the younger voters may even say "The politics is in shambles, I will not vote as a protest", that is another bullshit statement. All the more reason we should vote. You cannot say something is not right and just shrug your shoulders. Another group may say, "Well, I am not affected either way". Yes, you are and you will be. Just because you have not been a victim or know someone who has been a victim does not excuse you for having that view. Sooner or later, we are affected, in fact, we are affected already even if you have a cushy job and your family is in the upper middle class with little monetary worries. How do things affect you? When your fellow citizens are leaving in droves because of varied reasons, it depletes the average brain power and human resources of our country. If the country is not managed prudently, soon it will affect your ringgit's purchasing power, heck maybe your EPF may not be there when you want to withdraw. Wait till you have a legal case against the wrong people, and that the rule of law is not upheld, see if that affects you. You do not need to wait till something tangible happens to you or your family .... we are Malaysians, we should want for a fair and just country for all. Everyone is our neighbour. You cannot exists as an island in Malaysia or any country for that matter. It is exactly that kind of apathy that allows for injustice to prevail. We cannot say it does not affect us, by not voting we are tacitly saying its ok to rape our country and let people go free when they are guilty just because they know somebody. You owe it to yourself, your family and your unborn children to do the right thing. Be part of the wave, the people's power, government should be scared of us not the other way around. We appoint them, like it or not. Make them know that we are not mushrooms, you cannot keep us in the dark and feed us shit. That is what happens when enough of us do not vote. Go vote and exhort all to vote, I don't care even if you are voting BN, just go and vote.
Thanks a lot ROS, all opposition parties will thank you a lot ... because you have just energised all who were going to vote opposition anyway ... but more importantly, you have convinced the many fence sitters that this is soooo uncalled for, and just a couple of days before nomination. Thanks a lot, really, we thank you, when you do not use your brains properly, and just do things out of instruction, thanks a lot, it just confirms what we only suspected, now we know for sure... we have to vote for opposition. Thank you very much!!!
“I have never forgotten the deeds of civil servants ... If you love me, help me soon,” Najib said to civil servants while campaigning. The song lyrics that is probably most apt for Najib has to be the one by Vera Lynn/Brenda Lee ... just go through the lyrics, you will laugh your head off.
If the sun should tumble from the sky If the sea should suddenly run dry If you love me, really love me Let it happen, I won’t care If it seems that everything is lost I should smile and never count the cost If you love me, really love me Let it happen, darling, I won’t care
Shall I catch a shooting star? Shall I bring it where you are? If you want me to, I will You can set me any task I’ll do anything you ask If you’ll only love me still
When at last our life on earth is through I shall share eternity with you If you love me, really love me Then whatever happens, I won’t care

You cannot have DBKL selectively removing banners and flags because they are opposition stuff. Lembah Pantai is my constituency some more. At least they listened to proper reasoning in the end. I feel bad for the police/DBKL people as well as obviously they are only following instructions from the top. It is exactly why people are pissed off, not at DBKL, but at how power is misused at almost every level when it suits them. Less than one month to a new government. The honking for support and people's power rising up from a sense of grave injustice is very heartwarming.
Voters in Putrajaya are finding it strange that PAS flags have been absent in Putrajaya despite the announcement that party vice president Husam Musa will be contesting there at the coming GE.
“PAS is contesting in Putrajaya, but not even a flag? Flags must be put up to boost the spirit,” a voter told Harakahdaily.
Harakahdaily visited Putrajaya and found BN flags hoisted everywhere.
The scene was different during Husam’s first programme at Precinct 18 last Thursday, when roads were decorated with PAS flags.
However, Harakahdaily also noticed that PAS’s Unit Amal was recollecting all the party flags once the programme ended.
A Unit Amal member explained to us why:
“If we put up the flags at 3 in the morning, they will be removed at 4 am. We love our flags. When there is a PAS programme, we will put them up. Once over, we will take them out. That’s routine, I believe this will continue until election.”
He added that he had been warned against putting PAS flags within Putrajaya.
While flags may not be the effective weapon to capture voters' hearts, this ban on PAS flags only shows the great task ahead for history to be created in this city custom-made for civil servants.
It was supposed to be a non descript day trip to Singapore, but it turned out to be 'adventurous'. Again, Firefly departed a couple of minutes earlier than scheduled, good thing. Got The Straits Times and the Lion Air was the main story. Hmmm.... reading on, you wonder why people are still flying Lion Air ... and as a regional consumer, do we know all the facts? The plane broke in two because it missed the runway completely and crashed into the river. But did you know that Lion Air has long been banned from the airspace of USA and Europe owing to its poor safety record. On Feb 15, 2011, a Lion Air 737 skidded off the runway at Pekanbaru, Riau. Similar skidding events were also recorded in 2006, 2004 and 2002 at airports in South Sulawesi, East Java and Riau respectively. What were they doing, having bets about how well they can skid the planes on the runways to impress the stewardesses? Thats not the end of it, in Nov 30, 2004 Lion Air MD-82 carrying 146 people skidded off the runway (again) in Solo, Central Java, killing 26. Do they change their tyres??? Are they on Goodyear or ...shudder Bridgestone?? So we all can be buta-buta flying Lion Air, without knowing better, so "dangerful". Anyway, was in the city to give a thorough presentation on Murasaki system as we are launching in a big way in Singapore come mid-May with our jv partner. Had to present to 9 people who are part of the sales and marketing team there. Almost every time I am in Singapore I will take a cab to Compass Point, Sengkang as they have an outlet for Carona Chicken (of of my all time fav food from Singapore). Used to be a lot better as Corona Chicken when it was at Colombo Court in town, then they sold it to someone who tried to make it into a fast food franchise, sigh. Finishing that, took the train from Sengkang to Chinatown ... what happened next was supposed to be in the movies only. There were two Bangladeshi guys on one side, and empty seat with The Straits Times papers on it and next to that seat was a 60 something Chinese guy reading Chinese papers. So asked the old guy if the papers were his as I wanted to have the seat. He exclaimed quite loudly "Don't talk to me, don't ask me any questions".... WTF!!!! No wonder there are so many entertaining MRT videos on You Tube. I just took the papers and sat down anyway, if he says even one word he was going to have a fucking tirade from me. Luckily he kept quiet. I wondered, why did he behaved the way he did? Were there too many China girls trying to con him, or did I looked like a pimp trying to hook him up with one and cheat his money? What caused him to be so closed off to the world? Had he been badly cheated, mistreated, had many bad turns in life, bitter and all ... or thought I was trying to pick him up or sell him some ubat orang kuat!!! WTF!!! Sigh .... eventful nonetheless. ... and yes, my Firefly flight took off 10 minutes ahead of scheduled departure ... top that MAS.
